Located
on the 22nd floor of an apartment building in downtown Boston, facing
east with magnificent views of Boston harbor islands filtered through
an urban landscape. The living spaces and bedrooms are aligned along
the east window wall where as the utilities, the kitchen and 2 baths,
are aligned along the interior wall of the unit. The challenge was to
create more fluidity between the enclosed utility areas and the living
spaces, as well as to allow for light and views to penetrate thorough.
The scope of work included space planning, selecting all new finishes
and utilities, and choosing furniture.
The living room and kitchen are connected through a carved out opening used also as a counter. The opening is lined with a vibrant red laminate; either side of the red frame is furnished with a composition of grays.
An entry foyer chest is designed out of the kitchen mass. It is lined
with three way mirror over a custom designed furniture chest
A composition of glass tiles, milky glass sliding door, and oversize mirrors, create an extended space.
